Dreadful Nightmare

It is probably a nightmare for every serious photographer, amateur or professional.

A few days ago, I found that the Lightroom in the computer wouldn't start! The dilemma between fixing the computer or relocating the programme to my inadequate laptop is quite a bother to me. There is an expensive option of buying a new computer, but I have to be a moron to be a spender like that.

Since I had the Leica cameras some three years ago, I have been using Lightroom (freebie with purchase of a Leica) to manage my photos. The present issue won't hurt my efforts devoted to them coz I have not been silly enough to not make regular backups. It is a bugging reality that this has to be fixed somehow though.

Without the regular workflow, this will also be preventing me from posting photos to GX Garnerings. The culprit, I guess, is a Chrome add-on called Disconnect. The last time the Lightroom worked was before installation of Disconnect. Several preliminary remedies have been put in place to no avail. Sigh, I am truly disconnected!

Ricoh Camera Giveaways and the New GRD Bet

The recent months have seen Ricoh’s heavy-handed promotional efforts. Apart from the photo contest in collaboration with Greenpeace concluded some weeks ago in Hong Kong, there are three more chances for aspiring photographers to get free Ricoh cameras. (Leica D-lux 5) The digital era may make it easier to end up with fave shots. Even lousy photos may be turned likable after a few clicks in the post-processing workflow. But if digital advancement or amendments have any bearing on the cultivation of personal style, no photographers will need to discover his or her own photographer’s eye. Undoutedly, this is out of the question. Only with a trained photographer’s eye can we give a thinking gaze and capture an eternal moment, in our unique style. Style is the soul of a great photo.
