Under the Flyover

(Ricoh GX200)

The first sight of this expanse of emptiness from the foreground to where the view is stretched to the conjunction of the roads and the flyover plucked at my heart strings, silently echoing the loneliness of the street sleeper who built his makeshift home from all the belongings he had had gathered from the street.  Many a morning had I tripped to the spot with a camera before he finally put on a T-shirt in a matching colour to the canvas today.  One just has to wait for the right moment sometimes.  Patience pays.
The black and white version is actually the one I prefer.  It just more rightly brings out the mood:

Burdened

(Leica D-Lux 5)The purpose of using the margin position is to hopefully give a quality of heaviness to the primary subject to accentuate the picture’s theme on him being burdened.
