Yahoo! I found the invoice for the GRD4 and sent it to the dealer for repairing the malfunctioning manual focus, which rendered the snap mode totally useless.  I hope it will be soon for the GRD4 to be up and about.

My GRD4 exactly has the same problem as yours!!
Can you tell me Ricoh said that this problem?
My GRD just expired warranty!
so poor.
However, I really want to repair it.

Hi, Mike. It is just a waste of time to talk to the new dealer. Laikok people knows about the camera. Shame that they lost the dealership.

I actually got the camera back without them fixing it coz they said it functions well. I tried to explain the it to them. The problem still persists. If you search the web, particularly dpreview forum, you will notice users complaining the issue.

Mine is no longer under warranty. I may no longer buy Ricoh cameras as long as the present dealer holds the dealership.

I finally go to the new dealer.
The technical guy suggest me to do a alignment. If success, it cost me HK$500. Otherwise, they need to replace the whole lens for HK$1600.
Same as you, I take back the white GRD4 since it still ok at AF.
Then I bought a black 2nd hand full function GRD4 from market at HK$2200.
I still keep the white GRD4 at this moment.

A 2nd hand GRD4 for HK$2200? I hate to say this but probably that's over priced coz my first-hand White GRD4 was just HK$2400 a year ago.

Good news for you.

I sold my white GRD4 to a guy.
He send it to CS. Ricoh CS do an factory reset for him.
The camera back to normal!

Tun off the camera

Set the dial to "scene mode"

Press Fn2 and Play buttons simultaneously.

A screen with firmware version and other info will show up. If you wait for about 15 seconds a new screen will appear asking you if you want to initialize settings.

If you say OK, you go all the way back. You start by setting date, language etc...

The M module may better be described as a far-flung cousin to rather than an immediate member of the GXR family. Property Hegemony

Property Hegemony is a hot issue in the city.  It refers to the near or actual cartel comprising the local tycoons in the property market.  A worthy read on the topic is a book titled Land and the Ruling Class in Hong Kong by Alice Poon, a former assistant to a local property tycoon, who wrote it after she migrated to Canada. The book won the Canadian Book Review Annual a few years ago. 
Property hegemony is not an illusionary thing.  Alice has given her readers lots of data to justify the debate.  For example, in 2010, the six richest local clans who are all property developers controlled 14.7% of the Hong Kong stock market value.  This gives a glimpse into the result of the fact that while from 1991 to 1994, 70% of Hong Kong’s private property were built by seven property developers, 55% out of this amount was developed by four of the seven developers.  Today, most major property sites are owned by the biggest three to four among them.
