About 1.26 million people in Hong Kong, amounting to 18% of the population, are struggling to make ends meet. Poverty is definitely a problem in Hong Kong. The main cause, it is generally agreed, is the ever widening gap between the rich and the poor.  Radio Television Hong Kong, once a semi-government mouthpiece set up by the British but now a government department, has produced a documentary on the topic.  If you are interested, watch it here.

Mini Review of GRD II by Colin Bradbury

Today, we are going to learn some useful insights from Colin Bradbury in his mini review of the GRD II. Colin is a professional photographer stationed in Hong Kong. Photos are copyrighted to him. Since this was a family holiday and not a photography trip I wanted to travel light. On that basis I left my DSLRs at home and took the GRDII as my only camera to save weight but also to see how useful it would be as the only camera in a variety of photographic situations. I have to say I was very pleased with it and didn't miss having a zoom or longer lens at all. The 28mm is a perfect single focal length and proved itself useful in a variety of situations. Meet-up of the Three Musketeers

(Very, very busy hands with three great cameras in one go) The three inseparable friends in The Three Musketeers, a novel by Alexandre Dumas , live by a well-known motto, “One for all, all for one”. Last Saturday, I managed to arrange a meetup in my citadel for the three modern musketeers (LX3, G10 and GX200). A variant version of the motto sprang to mind, “One camera for all purpose, all great features for one camera”. Before the meetup, I had a shootout with both the LX3 and the GX200. Then I returned home and played with the G10. I had actually played with the LX3 and the G10 before. But this was the first time I could sit down, compare notes with the users and feel the differences of the three in real time.
