(Ricoh GRD4) Often seen in the Mongkok pedestrian precinct, this busker -- probably an Eastern European as suggested by his facial features -- plays his accordion with admirable passion. With fingers dancing on the keyboard, limbs and hip moving while head rolling up and down to the tune, he is however apparently as empty in spirit as his bucket for people to drop tips. It is sadly not the Chinese culture to dig into their pocket to pay for what the buskers played for them. They would think, well, he just needs audience; Isn't he enjoying himself? Now, what did I try to capture in this image? It is the opinion on this busker from exactly such bystanders in sort of an uninterested fashion, as well as the sense of movement and the music dancing in the air. I could have dragged the shutter speed and used the flash, but the least I wished was to alarm the subject. Did I succeed in what I tried to do? What say you?
